Help Eastern Kentucky Rebuild!

Do you want to give a donation in support of Eastern Kentucky flood survivors but aren't sure exactly where your money is going? Do you want to donate to a fund that goes directly towards helping flood survivors? And do you want to see what your donation actually does?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, then donating to our Housing Can't Wait Disaster Recovery Fund is the perfect way for you to help flood survivors!

Our main goal is to help as many people as we can as fast as we can. According to the latest numbers reported by FEMA and the Red Cross, 2,132 Eastern Kentucky homes have been majorly damaged or destroyed. Since this number reflects only those homeowners and renters who have reached out to FEMA or the Red Cross, we believe there are many more. We estimate that Eastern Kentucky will need to replace 2,300 homes, which will cost around $600 million.

It will take years for Eastern Kentucky to recover. The most important thing right now is that we don't want people to forget us. At least 850 flood survivor families are still living in FEMA travel trailers. While they are grateful for shelter, each one of them will tell you they want to go home. They need to have a proper home, and that's what the Housing Development Alliance wants to help them have!

But we can't help these families without you.

There isn't enough funding available to help build and repair so many homes for so many people. A gift from you today will be put to immediate use and will help:

  • Build new homes for flood survivors whose homes were washed away or were so majorly damaged as to be uninhabitable.
  • Rehab homes for flood survivors whose homes received significant damage but are structurally sound and can be saved.
  • Develop new rentals for flood survivors who need a more immediate housing solution.

We are currently working with over 30 flood survivors in need of a new home, and we have over 150 flood-impacted homeowners in our pipeline for home rehabs and repairs. That’s in addition to the 300 low-income families we’re currently working with towards income-based homeownership and the 200 low-income homeowners in our community in need of home repairs! As you can see, our builders are needed more now than ever before, and thanks to the support of people like you, we’ll be able to help these folks and many others.

Thank you for caring so much for our community. People like you truly make a difference in the world, and we’re so thankful for you!
